Privacy Policy — Bluetooth Finder: Hot/Cold

1) Overview

Bluetooth Finder: Hot/Cold helps you locate nearby Bluetooth devices by scanning for Bluetooth signals and showing proximity feedback based on signal strength (RSSI). This policy explains what data the app accesses and how it is used.

2) Data the app accesses

When you use the app, it may access and display:

• Bluetooth device information of devices around you during scanning, such as:
  • Device name (if available)
  • Bluetooth address / device identifier (MAC / ID)
  • Signal strength (RSSI)
• Saved device list ("My devices"), if you choose to save devices in the app.

Optional (only if you enable it):

• Coarse location label / last-seen location note (e.g., a user-provided label or a system-provided coarse location depending on implementation and Android version).

3) How the app uses this data

The app uses the data only to:

• Show nearby devices and their signal strength.
• Provide proximity guidance in Find Mode ("hot/cold" feedback).
• Save devices you mark as "My devices".
• Store "last seen" information for saved devices (timestamp, RSSI, and optional location label if enabled).

4) Data sharing

• The app does not sell your data.
• The app does not share your Bluetooth scan results or saved device data with third parties.
• The app does not send your saved device list to any backend server (local-only design).

5) Data storage and retention

• Saved devices and last-seen information are stored locally on your device.
• Data remains until you remove saved devices in-app, clear app storage, or uninstall the app.

6) Permissions

The app may request permissions required by Android to scan for Bluetooth devices, such as:

• Bluetooth scanning and connection permissions (e.g., BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT on Android 12+).
• On some Android versions, the system may require Location permission for Bluetooth scanning and/or optional last-seen location features. If requested, it is used only to enable those functions.

7) Security

We store data locally using Android's app storage. No method of storage is 100% secure, but we aim to keep access limited to the app sandbox on your device.

8) Children's privacy

This app is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will be available at the same URL, with an updated effective date.
